To be honest AutoDesk are a bunch of scheming whores to force everyone to pay for 10 different pieces of software - most of which you have no use for. Note that both the license and dekstop purchase is for a suite of software, not just Revit.

When a new verison of Revit comes out with desktop subscription, you just download the new version and pay your normal monthly fee. That cost is so high its almost fucking criminal. Upgrades cost about 80% of a full license.

If at any point in time you have the chance to upgrade ( even mid-project) do it. The more up-to-date the version of Revit you have, the less likely it will crash. You must upgrade your license every year because typically all the consultants you work with will upgrade annually but more importantly Revit is dodgey as fuck and can crash at anytime. Buying a full license does little to build your business's assets.
You aren't buying the software such that you can resell it at some point in the future on Gumtree (Unless of course you sell your entire business which will mean any software licenses can also transfer across).
